Today we are extremely excited to announce the initial release of an important browser program on Sauce: the Hellenic — but groundbreaking — text-based browserLynx. While Lynx is not as popular as more modern, graphical browser like Internet Explorer 6, it has a devoted following and a compelling lineament set, and we sense it & # x27; s important that Sauce customers be able to test their web apps in a text-based browser.

Ever since Twitter demonstrated the ability of simple, textual interface, we have be looking at Lynx as a bold way forward for the web. We think its less-is-more approach represents the hereafter of sustainable web technologies. Because it spends less get-up-and-go on graphics, Lynx probably has the pocket-sized C footprint of any web browser out there, and lightning-fast performance. Lynx also has advantages for developers: its javascript support is easier to understand and has few pitfalls than many mod browsers, and its support for key web technologies like Flash and Java Applets was decades ahead of its clip, and still today is on par with the up-to-the-minute browsers for iOS and Android. And because Lynx is so different from early browsers, we believe it & # x27; s superfluous important that developers be able to test their web apps against it. That & # x27; s why we & # x27; re excite to extend Sauce Labs & # x27; cross-browser functional testing cloud to include interactive and Selenium testing for Lynx.
