Recently, we create the Sauce Labs Open Program Office to focus our attention internally on how we support and contribute to the open source community. Terminal hebdomad, we proudly launched a new web site with comprehensive information about the office, including best practices, contribution guidelines for the Sauce team, and a new blog where Diego Molina and Christian Bromann will write regularly about all thing open source. Not long ago, we denote that we created our Unfastened Source Program Office to deepen our investing in the broader open source community. Open source is part of our DNA hither at Sauce, and this was a key part of our strategy to truly leverage sustainable and active support for open germ package (OSS) within the company.

Now, let ’ s take a closer looking at the why, the what, and the how of the Open Source Program Office.

First up, what ’ s our charge? The open root squad at Sauce intends to actively contribute to, acquire, and lead open source projects that are critical to the community and to the commission of Sauce Labs. Secondly, this team will adopt policies that will enable Sauce employees to well contribute to OSS projects by helping them read best practices of open source development.

And why do we trust so strongly in the value of exposed source? Simply put, we receive seen for ourselves that it allows us to harness the collective power of the global testing and developer community to develop and maintain the best, most useful package. Christian Bromann and I helped plant the Open Source Program Office at Sauce Labs because we personally believe so strongly in OSS. We are both software engineers with eld of experience leading and contributing to open source task, including Webdriver.io, Appium and Selenium. We are both committed to spreading the open source honey within Sauce Labs and the broader community.
